Hitler Gets His Geocities Site Deleted

..but mine are still up and running??? Why is that? I thought all Geo sites were to be obliterated on 26th October 2009? Did someone at Yahoo forget to push the button, or did the email giving the order get lost in cyber space or get sent to the spam folder?

Update: my old geo sites seem to have gone now. I'm sad but also glad, it was driving me mad not being able to get in and edit and update because of an error on Yahoo's part.

The Demise Of Geocities

Yahoo is closing down Geocities later this summer. Exactly what that means isn't altogether clear at this point. As far as I can ascertain it means that anyone with a free website has to upgrade to a pay plan or be wiped off the face of the internet. Time will tell.

I'm a bit sad at the news really, I have never been that computer savvy, but I found Geocities realtively easy to use and I built several nice looking sites using it.
